Review: Rapture EP by Koffee

Koffee is a Jamaican Reggae and Dancehall artist who recently dropped her Rapture EP, the future looks bright for her as this debut project presents her versatility as an artist. This EP is five tracks and Koffee delivers catchy hooks, conscious lyrics, and various production choices to back her colorful performances across this entire EP.

I first discovered Koffee from A Colors Show on youtube, of which I will link the video at the bottom of this post. The song she performed was Rapture and this Ep happened to pop up in my recommendations on google play so I gave it a listen. I knew absolutely nothing about her as an artist and I still don’t know a lot about her besides that this debut project is pretty solid.

Koffee’s deliveries are often catchy and certain bars contain conscious lyrics, which I enjoy quite a bit since it kinda paints a larger picture of Koffee as an artist. Her hook game is also very strong, making each of these songs enjoyable and attention-grabbing like on the track title track Rapture. “Koffee come in like a rapture And everybody get capture” is contagious and it will probably get stuck in your head.

I also enjoy the performance from the only feature artists, Jane Macgizmo, Koffee would have carried this project by herself but Jane delivers a pretty solid performance that is pretty notable.

This EP is only a taste of what’s to come and I will definitely be looking forward to a debut.
